English Debating 2024/2025
Our school debate club has a busy and remarkable year this year.
For many of our students it was their first-year competition in the Concern Debating competitions after school. Our schools senior team (Holly, Ruth, Sarah, Caitlin Boylan) finished in the top 50 schools in Ireland.
Our Senior debate team, Holly Grininger, Keava Young, Sarah Aberg , Ruth Fitzpatrick successfully reached the quarter final of the DDLETB Senior debating competition.
Our Junior Team, Olivia Petrovschi, Yasmine Carpa, Gloria Babianaskiate successfully reached the quarter final of the DDLETB Junior debating competition.
In Individual public speaking (Soroptimist) Sarah Aberg was crowned Dublin and Leinster champion. An unfortunate clash with holidays meant she could not compete in the National Finals but we look forward to see what she can do next year.
Our Junior debate club welcomed over 20 first years this year, who debated weekly. We look forward to students representing our school for years to come.

German Debating
The school also has a German debating team which is run by Miss Farrell. Students debate current topics through German. Competitions take part during the year and if students have an interest they should speak to Miss Farrell.
